Never ridden a jet ski? Many of our guests are first-timers, and the rules are simple. Here is how it works.
Before you arrive
Book online or call or text (787) 948-1500. Arrive a little early. Our Isla Verde meeting point is the kiosk in front of the big Puerto Rican flag at 12 C Gardenia, Carolina, PR 00979.
Who can ride
- Drivers must be 21 or older.
- Passengers must be 8 or older.
- The maximum combined weight is 320 lb per jet ski.
Safety briefing
Our team explains how to start, steer, stop and stay safe before you go out. Riders often tell us the instructions are clear and friendly for first-timers.
Choose your ride
Isla Verde freestyle rides are 30, 45 or 60 minutes ($120, $160 and $230 per jet ski). The El Morro guided ride from San Juan Bay is 45 minutes ($165). Gas and taxes are included, and the deposit is $0.

Read what riders say on our reviews page.
Before You Arrive
Check in about 15 minutes early with your ID and booking details. Everyone must sign a waiver. Drivers must be 21 or older, passengers 8 or older, and the combined weight on one jet ski is limited to 320 lb. Wear a swimsuit, bring sunscreen and leave valuables in a safe place.
The Safety Briefing
Your guide will explain how the controls work, how to start and stop, the lanyard cut-off, hand signals and the boundaries of the riding area. Every rider wears a life jacket. Take the briefing seriously, even if you have ridden before, because every area has its own rules.
On the Water
Most riders feel comfortable within a few minutes. Throttle response is smooth, and you steer with the handlebars while the jet ski responds to the throttle. Keep a safe distance from other riders, stay inside the approved area and follow your guide’s instructions.
Will I Get Wet?
Yes. Expect splashes, especially in choppy water or when riding double. Sunglasses with a strap and a quick-dry swimsuit are a good idea. A waterproof phone pouch can protect your device, but keep it secured.
Choosing a Ride Length
At Isla Verde Beach, rides run 30, 45 or 60 minutes. A 30-minute ride is a fun introduction, 45 minutes gives you more time to get comfortable, and 60 minutes is great for exploring the coast at an easy pace. At San Juan Bay, the guided El Morro ride is 45 minutes.
Common Questions
- Do I need a license? Ask when you book and bring a valid ID.
- Can I ride with a friend? Yes, within the weight limit.
- What if the weather turns? Safety comes first, and your operator will advise you.
