You can jet ski in San Juan all year, but the time of day changes the ride. Here is how to pick your slot.
Morning: calmest water
The water off Isla Verde is often at its calmest in the morning, before the afternoon breeze picks up. It is the best choice for first-timers, families with kids, and anyone who wants a smooth, relaxed ride. Morning slots are popular, so book ahead.
Midday to afternoon: more energy
As the breeze builds, small waves and chop add some thrill. Experienced riders often love this. The sun is also strongest, so bring sunscreen and water.
Sunset: Old San Juan views
From San Juan Bay Marina we offer sunset jet ski rides with El Morro and the old city in golden light. It is a favorite for couples and photos. See the Old San Juan jet ski page for times.
Our hours
- Jet ski rentals: daily, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Pine Grove Beach surf school and beach rentals: daily, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Best time of year
Puerto Rico is warm all year. Winter can bring bigger ocean swells to the north coast on some days, while summer often has flatter water. Weekends and holidays fill up fastest, so reserve in advance to save your spot. For trip planning, see our guide to the best time to visit Puerto Rico.
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If we cancel for weather, you choose a full refund or a reschedule.
Plan your ride
Arrive 30 minutes early to check in. Drivers must be 21 or older, and passengers ride free. Pick a freestyle ride at Isla Verde Beach or a guided ride from San Juan Bay, read what to expect on your first ride, or book online.
